The PADI equipment specialist gives you the opportunity to learn about the maintenance, repair and upkeep of your scuba equipment.

Whether it's a missing or blown o-ring, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, the PADI Equipment Specialist course teaches you how to manage basic repairs and adjustments. Learn how to build your own dive gear maintenance toolkit.

The Equipment Specialist course consists of two main parts:

Knowledge development completed using home study.

Hands on practical exercises working with dive gear.

Who is the course aimed at?

  • All dive professionals, including Divemasters and Instructors, or those planning to be one
  • Rescue Divers
  • Those looking to work in a dive shop or on a dive boat.
  • Gear junkies!

How long will it take?

Typically 1 Day and home study.

Prerequisites:

A PADI Open Water (or qualifying certification from another training organization) 10 years old.

We strongly suggest getting the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving and to study the chapter on dive equipment prior to the course.
